About this collection

Roy H. Towell, Jr., was a local businessman in Beaumont.  He owned and operated a parking lot and food truck business at the corner of Pearl and Liberty Streets, where the old Post Office and Courthouse had once stood.  His personal involvement with All Right Parking Lots and the Snack Wagon led him into additional business partnerships that included:  Allied Fabricating and Welding Company; Walley Electronic Supply; Beaumont Industrial Electronics; Beaumont Armature Works; and Beaumont Aviation Offices of America.  During World War II he also worked at the Pennsylvania Shipyards in Beaumont as an electrician.  As an avid photographer, he took numerous photographs of parades, social events, and other topics of interest that occurred both in Beaumont and the Houston area.  This collection consists of slides, photographs, and record material that document his lifelong business and photography interests as they related to the community in which he lived.
